HOFFMAN, David With great sadness, we mourn the passing of our beloved David Hoffman who passed away on January 16, 2013 after a brief illness. He was born in Hamilton on January 25, 1922 and spent the majority of his life there, a respected leader in the Jewish community. David was a WWII veteran and an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion General Wingate Branch. He was a man of integrity and his charming personality endeared him to a wide circle of family and friends throughout his lifetime. He is survived by his beloved Frances, wife of 67 years, loving daughters and sons-in-law Joanne and Stan Raphael, Mindy and Yacov Sarel; and brother Murray Hoffman. He was adored by his grandchildren Mitchel Raphael, Jeffrey and Dalia Raphael, Avi and Annie Raphael, Elinor and Ran Arbel, Asa and Sivan Sarel, Aviv Sarel, and nine great- grandchildren. David’s vibrant lifestyle, sense of humour and positive outlook truly inspired all those who knew him. He will always be remembered for his acts of kindness, his eagerness to share a joke and his passion for tennis. He was a source of strength and wisdom to all. We will always remember his stories, his humour and his zest for life. We will forever treasure his memory and his deep love and devotion to our family.
