HOFFMAN, Freda (nee Mirsky) Passed away suddenly but peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2013, on the day of her mother’s yahrzeit, the 16th of Tevet, after enthusiastically embracing life for more than nine decades. Our darling mother and grandmother loved her family, and especially her grandchildren, Josh, Robi, Caissie and David, and Carly, each of whom will have wonderful and enduring memories of her. She believed in and imparted her love of the traditions of Judaism to her family. She also loved fashion, sparkly sweaters, desserts made of chocolate, and Bridge Mixture any time of the day or night. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Sol, her brother Irving, and her parents Joseph and Sylvia Mirsky. She is survived by her loving children Lisa and Mark Levy and Ellen Hoffman, and by her brother Boris Mirsky and his wife Malka. Heartfelt thanks to Liliana and Steve of Comforcare, to Janice, and especially to Elaine Hart who was almost a member of the family. The funeral will take place on Wednesday, December 18, at 1.30 p.m. at The United Hebrew Memorial Chapel, 38 Ewen Road, Hamilton. Shiva will be observed at 105 Amelia Street from Wednesday through Monday evening, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. The evening Minyan will be at 7.30 p.m.
