Guillermo (Zdzislaw) Kisielewski, 86, died August 29, 2026 in Oakville at Ian Anderson House.
Born Moses Israel Kurta on August 31, 1939 to Bayla Goldstein and Mayer Kurta in Warsaw, Poland. Guillermo was married to Vicentina Gullotta (1939-1999) in Buenos Aires, Argentina where he arrived in 1949 with his family after being in a Hidden Child of the Holocaust.
After 30 years, having enjoyed a good life in Argentina, Guillermo emigrated to Toronto with his family. Guillermo is survived by his four daughters, Susana Arnott (Jim Arnott), Elisabet Kisielewski (Ernesto Stasiak), Claudia DiPaola and Gabriela Jeffrey (Paul Jeffrey) by his grandchildren Karla (Marc Anthony), Alessandra (Kyle), Nico (Dunja), Mariano, Julian and Ryan as well as his great grandchildren Sloane, Mateo, Lily and Giorgio and his brother Jorge Kisielewski (Mary Kisielewski) and his nieces and nephews in the US and Switzerland.
Guillermo was preceded in death by his wife “Vice”, his mother Bayla, his stepfather Boleslao, his sister Sofia, and father Mayer.
Guillermo was a furrier by trade and citizen of the World evidenced by his love of travelling and by the number of languages he spoke. He was also an avid chess player and reader. He enjoyed life to the fullest and loved listening to music, dancing, hosting never ending “asados”, introducing many of his friends to every aspect of Argentine culture.
After retirement, Guillermo travelled to Bolivia, Peru and Russia as a volunteer for CESO;, he also travelled a few times to Israel and became a part of The Hidden Children of The Holocaust Community which reintroduced him to his roots.
An eternal optimist and fierce survivor; he believed that everything was always possible and instilled this value in his daughters for which they will always be grateful.
Graveside funeral service will be at 1:30 PM on Monday, August 31, 2026 at Glen Oaks Cemetery 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville ON, L6H7A8.
