ENNIS, Gilda Lynn On June 17, 2018 Gilda Lynn Ennis, beloved wife of Jeff Ennis passed away. She is the mother of four amazing sons, Jesse, Daniel, Jonny and Jamie. She has been blessed with two wonderful daughters-in-law, Nikki and Kate. She is grandmother “Bubbie” to Hudson and Gavin, two young men with a blessed future ahead of them. Gilda spent her life showing everyone how to live it by her own example. She could fill a room with joy by her lovely smile. She never had an unkind word for anyone, was unselfish, and would be there if anyone needed help. She and Jeff were lucky to be together for 50 years and married for 42 years. She made Jeff, and everyone she touched, better than they would have been otherwise. She will be deeply missed, but she will never be forgotten as she lives on in her family. “I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent than history. That dreams are more powerful than facts. That hope always triumphs over experience. That laughter is the only cure for grief. And I believe that love is stronger than death.” Please feel free to make a donation on behalf of Gilda and the family to the Cancer Society or the Endowment Fund she helped to create. It is the Ennis Endowment Fund at McMaster University. http://www.ennisendowment.com. I will find you again.
Looking for a way to reconnect with Gilda recently I was profoundly saddened to learn of her passing two years ago. I met Gilda in 1974 in our first year of the physiotherapy program at UofT. A stroke of alphabetical luck made us natural early lab partners. She was delightful in every way and her friendship was a highlight of my university years. The world has lost a lovely soul.
Jeff
I retain a strong image of Gildas unique smile, those beautiful impish red curls, and the warm welcome she always greeted me with.. But Her legacy is much deeper . She leaves behind a good name and good works , a loving family and community.
May the ripple effects bounce back to support and comfort you in the days ahead.
Many blessings to you and the boys
Dear Jeff, Daniel Johnathan and Kate, Jamie Jesse Nikki Brian and Patricia
We are sharing our heartfelt sadness at this profound loss of a woman who added so much love life and energy to our world. We knew her best for her work with the Holocaust remberance day in her giving organization and caring for others. Also in her gentle warm smile and kindness to patients in your practice and on the simple day to day interactions. May the memory of her and her love soon come to soften the pain of her loss. Our hearts are with you in this painful time.
Jeff, The years have flown by and we are deeply saddened by your loss. We hope you find strength in your community and always remember that old friends are thinking of you at this time.
