Dear Leonore, Jonathan & Pamela, I am heartbroken to learn of Normie’s passing. Normie and I went through Van Horne School and Northmount together. And then, when I met Willie, I discovered that he and Normie were teaching colleagues at Wagar. Together with Al Schreiber, they were a force to be reckoned with. And when you came into the picture, we spent many fun times together. Although many years have elapsed since we last saw one another, I will always remember the good times. Normie (Nipper) has left this world far too soon. I am writing this with tears in my eyes, thinking of your pain. Maybe Willie and Normie have re-connected and are enjoying a game of touch football. My heart goes out to all of you. May Normie’s memory be for a blessing.
With love, Susan Puritz
We have many memories of good times with norm!and Lee!
Dearest Lee and family,
We were so very shocked and devastated to hear of Norm’s untimely passing. Please accept our deepest condolences. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone he came in contact with. Reading through all the comments I was most impressed by those posts from former students. Obviously he was a very talented and much beloved teacher. You should be very proud and I sincerely hope that the good memories you have will sustain you during this difficult time.

Dear Lee,
I am in disbelief, Norm’s passing will leave a monumental hole with everyone he knew and every place he frequented. He was instantly loved, lit up a room, even the pool when he entered and everyone was always thrilled to see him. He had a gift, and he was a gift!

So sorry for your loss. I grew up a few doors away from his family home in Montreal West and used to walk over to his house as a preschooler to chat with his mom. Later both my sister and I were in his Biology class. He used to sing ‘Mona Lisa’ when he spotted me in the hall. Such a card and so sweet. He will be missed.
