JOHNSON, George Edward With profound sadness we suddenly lost the most amazing father, husband, brother, uncle and friend, George Edward Johnson, in his 54th year. He will be missed by so many but none more than his utter pride and joys, Spencer, Lucas, and Cameron. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarke, Mary, Ian and Claire and their families. George loved life. He loved the Tories, but he especially loved his Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Too bad they’re letting him down this year! Funeral service will be held at the United Hebrew Memorial Chapel at 28 Ewen Road, Hamilton, Ontario, on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. Shiva details to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Progressive Conservative Party would be appreciated.

Dear George as time passes and another hockey season is upon us the great memories my family and I have of you never are never forgotten. Your positive personality on K is to this day still cemented in his mind. Your gone way too soon and we are all better for knowing you. Peace to your boys and family.
To The Johnson Family,
We are so sorry to hear of the sudden loss of your husband/father George. May his memory be for a blessing. Remember George lives in each one of your three wonderful sons!
Rochelle, Michael, Seth, Aaron & Shaina Kerzner (A Camp Ramah Family)
I haven’t seen George for so many years and was shocked to hear of his passing. My deepest sympathies to his family. George was a great lawyer and a better friend. He was, by far, the most fearless advocate I have ever met.
So sorry to hear of George’s passing. My sincere condolences. Got to know George 20+ years ago from section 26 at Ivor Wynne. Crossed paths often while I was working with a law firm in the mid 90’s. I moved West. In recent years we would have discussions at Grey Cup events. Recall vividly years ago the customized car license plate we aspired to attain “RGO H8R” Godspeed George, will miss you.
Dear Kathryn, Spencer, Lucas and Cameron. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband and father, George. You adopted a cat from our pet store and more recently were adopting two more. We had a wonderful chat when you adopted Clover and I could see she was going to an amazing home. I met George briefly with your boys as they stopped in to see Shadow and Thunder. What a nice guy he was! When I heard about his passing, my heart ached for you all. I lost my dad suddenly in 2012 and more recently, my mom suddenly in July, so I know somewhat of the pain you are going through. My deepest condolences go out to you all. You will be in my thoughts.
Kathryn, Spencer, Lucas and Camerson. I’m so sorry that I was not able to make George’s service on Sunday. Please know that you were in my thoughts that day and have been since I heard the news of George’s passing. My thoughts keep turning to my days at the office, spending time at your home, our many outings together. I cherish those memories. Heaven has welcomed quite the character. I hope they are ready for him 🙂 I hope he is enjoying his favourite cigar, watching his beloved Ti-Cats. He will be sadly missed. I wish I could take the pain away for you. Love, Tina & Andrea
Dear Kathryn and boys,
I was shocked and saddened to hear of George’s death. I knew George through the Conservative Party of Canada and David Sweet’s office. I always enjoyed his keen sense of humour and quick wit. I am so very sorry for your loss. G-d bless.
George you will be missed by many. I have known you for a long time and will miss you greatly you always had a smile till we meet again

I recently met George on a custody and access file and was instantly impressed with the vigor with which he represented his client’s interests, and his knowledge of the law. He was an extremely capable lawyer; both a fierce advocate, and a scholar. He was larger than life in so many respects (of course, I’m only 5’8″). My condolences to his equally capable spouse Kathyrn. He will be sorely missed by so many in the legal community. Christopher Du Vernet.
On behalf of the Tiger-Cat organization I want to express our deepest regrets to the family and friends of George. He was a legendary fan. While we may have “let him down” so far in 2014 we will continue to work hard to give George something to cheer about in the future. What an absolute shame to lose someone this young. Deepest regrets.–Glenn Gibson (President- Hamilton Tiger-Cats)
Kathryn my friend
My sincere condolences to and your boys.
May the wonderful memories live on forever.
Dear Kathryn, Our deepest condolences to you and your boys. You know how much we loved both of you for all the good work you did on behalf of the women and children we serve. You also know how much I value and love both of you for your kindness and advocacy. My heart and prayers are with you and your family
George my friend, I met you in cub scouts and remained friends ever since, even with my Argonaut disability as you put it. I guess that beer will have to wait for another time, please save me a seat in the front row…
I will never forget you Mr Johnson and Thank you for giving me the opportunity to know you..
oskee wee wee George
Dear George,
Thanks for the wonderful memories in the Duty Counsel Office. We will always remember your gallant presence ……. your brisk walk as you entered the office, which was followed by a gesture to remove your striking hat and placing it momentarily on the desk beside the candy jar. As you were glancing at your blackberry, you would be raising your chin, quickly knotting your colourful bow tie, providing commentary and predictions of the next Ti-Cat game while receiving instructions from George Parker regarding your specific court assignment. The moments were brief, but always filled with irrefutable energy and great stories. Your presence will definitely be missed at Hamilton’s Criminal Court House.
