KELMAN, Harry Passed away peacefully in Toronto in his 97th year. Beloved husband for 73 years of Margaret, loving and devoted father of Katherine (Paul), and Nancy (Frank). Wonderful grandfather to Nathan (Bonnie), Mark (Talia), Michelle (Francois), Rebecca (Andrew) and Jessica (Elana), and doting great-grandfather who delighted in his 10 great-grand- children. He is survived by his sisters-in-law Freda Rosenfeld and Naomi Stone (Chris Anderson), and pre- deceased by his siblings Izzy, Gloria, Ken, and Billie. He is fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Dr. Baryla and all of Harry’s caregivers, especially Gloria Baraoed, Anna de Guzman and Jonah, and the wonderful staff at the Dunfield Retirement Home, led by Kurt Low and Lesreen. At age eight Harry lost his mother and was brought up by his maternal grandparents in downtown Toronto. Throughout his life he incorporated the unconditional love they gave him and radiated it to his extended family and close friends. He was independent, extraordinarily hard working and successful as an RCAF flight instructor officer from 1940-45 and as an entrepreneurial businessman in Sudbury and Hamilton. He will be missed by all who knew him. Burial will take place on Tuesday, January 19th at 1 p.m., at United Hebrew Memorial Chapel, 28 Ewen Rd., Hamilton, Ontario. A Celebration of Harry’s Life will take place from 7 to 9 p.m., at 625 Avenue Rd., Main Floor, Toronto. In lieu of flowers, donations to charities of your choice would be appreciated.
On behalf of my father and myself, we want to send you our most heartfelt condolences.
We have know Harry since my Dad moved into the Dunfield Retirement Residence over 4 years ago and he has always been warm and welcoming. We will miss him.
Many years ago we were neighbours of the Kelman family. I was sorry to read of Harry’s passing. I have never forgotten his warmth and friendliness, always waving and saying hi when he saw me on the street. I have also never forgotten his concern after seeing us in the hospital those many years ago when my daughter broke her arm. At this time we offer our condolences to the entire Kelman family. With great respect, Selma Sacrob and family
