Miriam was dedicated volunteer at Shalom Village. I have many fond memories of her.
She was one of my favorite cousins. We have a long shared history of almost 60 years. Her and Juli confirmed my love of art. I was a close friend of Mark as a teenager. We used to play a game where we ran up and down the stairs to the mountain.
I was saddened to learn of Miriam’s passing. She was a bright and unique lady. For 30 years she was an aunt by marriage. She and Julius (Julie) were an interesting and talented couple in the world or Art from Eskimo carvings at Julie’s art gallery store to paintings of dead birds by Canadian artist Paul Fornier. I understand that she was an art teacher held in high esteem. Miriam was a loving and proud mother of Robin, a cardiologist and her late younger son Mark. While she was still in Hamilton, I had bumped into her at Shalom Village, where she was doing some volunteer work and I had taken a bus into Hamilton for the day for personal reasons and joined a friend to also visit someone at Shalom Village and Miriam and I both were thrilled to see each other after the passage of a number of years. Robin and family and friends of Miriam of Blessed Memory should find solace in their memories. She will be reunited with her dear son, Mark, of Blessed Memory. Hamakom Yenachem Etchem Betoch Shaar Avalei Tzion ve Yerushalyim and know no more sorrow. May you be comforted with all the Mourners of Zion and Yerushalyim and know no more sorrow. Fondly.
