LEVITT, Norman After a long and wonderful life Norman Levitt passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13 in Hamilton in his 97th year. A devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He leaves behind his beloved and devoted wife Blanche of close to 62 years and his loving and devoted children Howard and Pamela, Fern and Arnie, Shelley and Marty and Stephen and Denise. He was the deeply loved Zaidy of Bonnie, Joshua, Dayna, Ali, Shayna, Samantha, Farah, Benjamin, Zachary, Aedan, Wren and Alessandra. He is survived by his brother Leslie and Doreen Levitt and predeceased by his parents Michael and Mildred Levitt and by his Sisters and Brothers Esther and Art Rosenblood, Jack and Ruth Levitt, Bunny and Sol Borovoy and Edie and Nate Feldman. He was a World War Two Veteran where he served overseas with distinction. He was a businessman and community leader and served as President and on the Board of many of Hamilton’s leading philanthropic and community organizations. He was a remarkable man and will be sorely missed. We would like to acknowledge with appreciation the care that he received while he was at Shalom Village. The funeral will take place in Hamilton at the United Hebrew Memorial Chapel of Hamilton, 28 Ewan Road, on Tuesday, July 16 at 11:00 a.m. Shiva will take place in Toronto at 195 Sandringham Road from Tuesday evening, July 16 until Sunday evening, July 21 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. each evening. The family requests that donations be sent to the following charities: Shalom Village and the Hamilton and District Society for Disabled Children.
