Gregory, Ian and David – my deepest sympathies to you all as you cope with life without Norma. I had the good fortune to work with Norma and Maurice at the Lipid Research Clinic from 1974-84 and value so much our years together there. Norma was dedicated, thorough, and delightful to be with. She was the glue for sure and our lives then felt like one big family, to the point that we all knew each other’s families and I knew you three as young boys. I am saying thank you to Maurice and Norma for everything they did for me both professionally and socially. Their lives were well lived. Rest well. Diane Pirhonen Marcou

Norma Rachelle Mishkel (1932-2033), passed away November 19th at 10:15 pm at Amica Dundas. She was preceded in death by her life partner and cherished spouse, Maurice, and was surrounded by her beloved “3 boys” Gregory (wife, Denise), Ian (wife Barbara) and David (wife Tamara). Norma was born in Australia, had a life of adventure and accomplishment, but her first priority was her always family and faith. She was kind of heart, large in spirit and rich in humor. In her later years, FaceTiming her grandchildren (Cole, Chloe, Jonah, Aviva, Ezra, Rebecca) and great grandchildren (Hazel) brought enormous joy and comfort. As was her style, a simple graveside service was held on November 21st, and she asked that any donations or gifts be made to Beth Jacob Synagogue on Aberdeen Avenue, Hamilton. She was the glue that held our family together, we will miss her, and will cherish her memory.
Dear Ian,
We read with sadness the obituary of your mother, Norma, whom we remember as an elegant and beautiful woman. We send you and your entire family our deepest condolences and hope that you find comfort in your memories of her.
