It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ilana Pekar. Following a brief battle with cancer Ilana passed away peacefully in her sleep, on the morning of Saturday June 12, 2021. It is comforting to know that she was not in pain and that her loved ones had the opportunity to be with her during her last days.
Following her wishes, a private graveside service will be conducted at the Adas Israel Cemetery, on Tuesday June 15, 1:00pm. The service will be live-streamed and the family would appreciate remembrance posts and messages. The service will be live-streamed at. http://www.mgxproductions.com/
Ilana leaves behind Arie, Joy, Benny, Breanna, Josh, Keri and Marty Pekar, Ramona and Joyce Kramer and many friends who loved her like family.
For those inspired to give in her honour we ask that you consider a donation to the PKD Foundation of Canada. Though it was cancer that ended her life, it was PKD that changed it.

You, Ilana are the dearest of friends from my youth on Eiffel avenue in Chomedey…You re so special and will always be in my heart…..
I will see you in eternity dear Ilans……………..Miriam Birnbaum
We lived across the street from Ilana in Chomedey for many years, and she spent
a lot of time at our house. She came with us on vacations and we always
enjoyed having her. She was a brave soul throughout the past few years and taken way too soon. We will always remember her fondly.
Avi and Shosh Alon and family
To the whole family,
Ilana and I grew up together on Eiffel avenue. We were best friends and had so many adventures together. We shared great times as well as sad times and always remained friends throughout the years, even though our lives diverged at various points along the way. There will always be a special place in my heart for her and I will sadly miss her.
