With great sadness we mark the passing of Molly Ann Schwarcz, beloved wife for 55 years of her husband Henry, and mother of Joshua of Jerusalem, Israel. Loving sister to Joan Herzog and brothers Samuel (Kate) and Michael (Vislette), predeceased by Daniel (Marta). Molly Ann was born in 1939 to parents David and Zelda Robinson of Hamilton. In her marvelous long life she had many careers, at the CBC, in education, travel and eventually as a psychotherapist but always foremost as mother and loving wife. She brought light, life and joy to many friends and her many relatives in Hamilton and around the world. A graveside funeral was held in the Temple Anshe Sholom cemetery. Shiva will be in the garden of 8 Mayfair Crescent, 2- 4 Tue-Thu, 12-3 on Friday. Mincha-Maariv at the same location 5:45 Tue-Thu. Please make donations to the Juravinski Cancer Foundation. We are grateful to the care of her doctors and nurses there and in the Juravinski and St Peters Hospitals.
We didn’t know Molly Ann well but she was a dear friend of one of Harriet’s good friends: Sue Mercer. We enjoyed Molly Ann’s playing at the Dundas Community Orchestra and, when she stopped playing, we would be happy to see her in the audience and afterwards for a chat. Henry, losing a wife after so many years and memories must be painful. We are sorry that Molly Ann is gone.
I so liked Henry and Molly Ann. I think they were my favorite adults on the planet when I was ten or eleven. They were so smart and kind to me. They were the first adults I ever encountered who didn’t treat me like a kid. We talked about everything from astrophysics to geology to the Vietnam War. But that was some fifty years ago. I’m writing here about the all too short period of my life when I was ten or so and saw them regularly! I haven’t seen them since. So all my memories of Molly Ann are of this very lively kind young woman and her cool husband. When I heard the news of Molly’s passing, I thought she must have died tragically young because for me she will remain forever young. I have often thought about her and Henry in the intervening years.
Henry, Josh, Sammy, Joan, Michael,

My deepest condolences, Henry. Molly Ann will be missed by everyone who knew her. My thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time.
My sincere condolences to Henry and Joshua and to Sam. Molly Ann was such a lovely woman, always interested and interesting. I remember well her penetrating gaze, gravelly voice and that enigmatic smile.

I’ll never forget her voice and laughter, her way of asking a question that could just get to the heart of the matter in seconds. She will be so missed. All of my love and thoughts to the family, and especially Henry.
So sorry to hear about Molly Ann’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.
