2013) \u00a0\u00a0With profound sadness we announce the passing of Elizabeth (Liz) Fein (nee Roberts), on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 in Oakville, surrounded by her family and dear friends.\u00a0 Beloved wife of Jared; Cherished mother of Joanna (Aaron Jacob) and Alison (Howard Markowitz);\u00a0Precious sister of Barry; Proud nana of Nathan, Jillian, Thomas and Daniel. \u00a0Now reunited with her loving parents, Irwin and Emily Roberts, late of Oakville.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Originally from Montreal, Liz and her family moved to Oakville in 1980, where she quickly became an active member of the community.\u00a0 She canvassed and fundraised for many local charities throughout her life.\u00a0 Liz proudly worked for over 25 years at Dr. Stephen Shaughnessy&#8217;s dental office, where she knew and loved all the patients and drew so much inspiration from helping them.\u00a0 She was a long-standing member of the board of Shaarei-Beth El Synagogue, serving on various committees and as its first female president.\u00a0 Liz&#8217;s passion and greatest joy was sharing her gift of music, alongside many close friends as a member of the synagogue choir.\u00a0 A glowing, positive influence to all she met, Liz faced every day with grace, dignity and an infectious smile.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Liz and Jared travelled many times to Ireland &#8212; their favorite place to vacation.\u00a0 They spent memorable hours touring the Irish countryside and soaking in its warm, inviting culture.\u00a0 These memories and the people who helped shape them had a very special place in Liz&#8217;s heart.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the many healthcare and support professionals who stood by Liz through her brave fight with ALS (Lou Gehrig&#8217;s disease).\u00a0 Her personal support workers, Grace and Bennet, deeply touched our family through their unwavering dedication and compassion.\u00a0 Laurie from the ALS Society of Canada was our rock.\u00a0 We are humbled and overwhelmed by the hundreds of cards, flowers and visits that Liz received from her many patients, colleagues, friends and family.\u00a0 Each one brightened her days.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Funeral services will be held on\u00a0Sunday, September 29, 2013, 1:30pm\u00a0at Shaarei-Beth El Synagogue, 186 Morrison Road in Oakville.\u00a0 Interment to follow.\u00a0 Expressions of sympathy and celebrations of Liz&#8217;s life are gratefully appreciated to the ALS Society of Canada &#8211;
