His parents, Lazar
Vine and Rochel Goldblatt, instilled in him many admirable traits:
dignity, quiet strength, a deep sense of principle, and a love of
community. Henry developed a genuine and enduring respect for those
around him. Through him, Henry’s children, Leslie, David, Lawrence,
and Natalie, were imbued with these same qualities, and he was forever
an inspiration to his sisters, Goldie Newman and Elaine Vine, in their
lives and pursuits. Henry studied to be a Chartered Accountant at the
urging of his parents, and was Senior Partner in the accounting practice
that he founded in 1965. The firm was highly regarded throughout the
Hamilton region, eventually becoming Vine and Partners in the 1970s. He
was esteemed as a Trustee in Bankruptcy, helping countless clients over
the years to navigate times of financial difficulty. Henry and Donna
have always been proud and active members of Hamilton’s Jewish
community, and they’ve been part of the Beth Jacob congregation for
decades. A life-long golf enthusiast, he never quite made the cut on
the Seniors’ Tour.

Henry adored his four children and always
supported them in the pursuit of their life goals. He cherished his
five grandchildren, Meredith, Adam, Avery, Annika, and Danel, all of
whom had a loving and caring relationship with their Zaidi. Henry was
the rock upon which this family was built, guiding us all, and helping
to make the world a wiser and warmer place.

Shiva will be observed Thursday May 2nd and Friday May 3rd between 1:00 and 4:00 PM at
Shalom Village, 70 Macklin St North, Hamilton.
