We
called them an “army of love,” and we cannot express enough, the immense gratitude we feel
for Jessa, Max, Oliver, Danny, Cliff, Drew, Nick and other close friends, for their 24-hour support
as they comforted and cared for David. Every day was a celebration of life, for weeks on end,
with visits never-ending; stories were shared, songs were sung, spiritual gatherings were held,
prayers were delivered. David had a tribe of friends that loved him fiercely. It was certainly a
testament of how much love David put out in this world. Seeing it come back to him in diamonds
brought us great peace.
David is loved and missed incredibly by his son, Max, and daughter, Jansen, and his best friend
Jessa Jansen (mother to his daughter). His father, David Rams Sr., his mother,
Patricia,(deceased one month later), his sister, Lisa (Mike) Monaghan, and niece Alex Mallory
(Dennis), sister Sara Rams (Scott Wallace), and niece Amy Wallace, and nephew Ben Wallace.
He was a master of his craft, an extremely talented artistic photographer. David spent 17 years
as a photographer for Playboy Magazine and travelled far and wide for Hilton Hotels taking
pictures and bios of staff that led him as far away as Peru and Mainland China. Created
pictorial essays of some great names in show business, Morgan Freeman, Jane Seymour,
Usher, Woody Harrelson, Tony Bennet, to name a few.
Every day was a new adventure for David. Taking pictures. It wasn’t work for him. It was his
passion; from a very early age. Every day was exciting. New faces, new places, every day was
an artistic challenge and a joy. What a wonderful way to live. To enjoy every day.
Many friends and extended family members will have fond memories of David’s kind heart, his
infectious laugh, his lighthearted sense of humor, and his deep love for people; all people. David
would take every mishap and turn it into something beautiful. He was a poet. He loved his
family with all his heart. So many fond memories. His recent trip home this summer was filled
with reminiscing all the magical years we have shared. We were so blessed to have had the
time together. Ever since David was diagnosed in 2021, we would have our family group text
every night, kind of like the Waltons. Good night John Boy, Good night Mary Ellen. We miss his
replies. Rest in peace, David. We love you.
A Celebration of Life will take place on the afternoon of December 1, 2024. Details to follow.
If desired, donations can be made to Margaret’s Place Hospice with hopes this type of care can
be given to others in the community.

It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of David William Rams at the age of 62, in Atlanta, Georgia on Wednesday October 9th, 2024, after a courageous battle with colon cancer.
