STRINGER, Marvin Peter BA, LLB Just short of his 88th birthday on Friday the 13th, 2019 our beloved and cherished Marvin passed away after a short stay at St Peter’s Palliative care in Hamilton, Ontario. Beloved husband of Andrea Stringer (nee Landa). Loved father of Lauren Stringer and husband Dan Furlan and Dayna Stringer and husband James Clarke. Adored and cherished grandfather of four grandchildren: Lukas and Erin Furlan and Gabby and Charlotte Clarke. Brother of the late Gloria Lax (Sheridan) and loved by many nieces and nephews. Marvin was a very well respected lawyer called to the bar in 1957 and continued his practice of the law in Hamilton until he was 82. He was on the board of things that mattered to him as a past president of B’nai B’rith Hamilton and also a past president of the Hamilton West Federal Liberal party. He was a raconteur who loved history and storytelling, and tried his best to love golf. He was funny and full of the best jokes and lived life the way he wanted to. He never judged and always lent an ear. He had many friends and a legacy of people who regarded him as a mentor, confidant, loyal friend and an all-round great guy. We would also like to thank the staff at the Juravinski Hospital and in particular Dr. Kouroukis at the Juravinski Cancer Center as well as the staff at St. Peter’s Palliative Care in Hamilton. We are so grateful for your expertise and kindness. Also, a big thank you to UB his PSW who gave us all the support we needed to care for him. Funeral Service was held at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 15th at The United Hebrew Memorial Chapel at 28 Ewen Road in Hamilton. Shiva following will take place at 1770 Main Street West Suite 801. Shiva hours this Monday through Thursday 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

My wife Susan and I are very saddened for the loss of Marvin husband of my first cousin Andrea. We will always remember Marvin’s warm heart and high intellect. He will always be missed by the western side of the Mintz family.
My wife Susan and I are very saddened about the loss of my beloved cousin Marvin. Although Marvin and Andrea were in Hamilton and we were in Edmonton we have fond memories of family get togethers over the years. My parents David and Clara were great fans of Marvin and Andrea. One of my memories is Marvin giving to me his textbook called Torts by Prosser very early in my legal career. We will never forget him.
Andrea and family:
I was so saddened to hear of Marvin’s death. I remember all those years ago when I babysat for your kids and remember the high regard that my cousin Dorinne Lewis Stoler had for you and most assuredly..still does. He was a very highly regarded gentleman in the city and I’m sure he was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Just know that his Neshama (soul) is always with you…and his outer shell is the only part of him that is gone. May you be comforted with all the Mourners of Zion and Jerusalem and know no more sorrow
