Richard will always be remembered by what he taught his family; respect for our jewish history, the love for family, and the importance of friends. “Keep walking, keep smiling”.
I am truly heartbroken on the passing of my wonderful stepfather who I got to call Dad for 41 years. He was one of a kind and raised me as his own. He was also a wonderful grandfather to my daughter Ashley and Brynley. When Ashley was born he was up at the hospital every day bringing her outfits from trendy shops in Toronto and asking when could she come home. Ashley and him were thick as thieves and did so much together. Photo shoots, swimming, dancing , cottage in Sherkston and trips to the USA. They were inseparable. I learned about the Jewish faith from him, Bubie Rosie, Zaidy Alfie ( always giving Aubie and I a dollar bill when we saw him flicking it a bunch of times to make sure we got one ) Many of holidays were spent on Emerson for family dinners. Sadly when Bubie Rosie passed the dinners did too. She made the best matzah ball soup!!! He made everyone feel welcome in our home and loved to cook!! I loved walking into the kitchen to him saying “Come here try this” ! My wedding day was one of the best as he walked me down the aisle joking with me like he always did!! Our father/daughter dance to It’s a Wonderful World was the most special and I will cherish it always and forever!! I loved watching my Mum and Dad dance on the dance floor. He had the best moves and the best laugh!!! Always smiling !!! He was an amazing Dad who I will miss terribly.
I love you Dad!! Thank you for being one the best role models in my life and for loving me and my family!! Rest easy xoxoxo

Saddened to hear of Richard’s passing. We were good friends so many years ago in grade school at Earl Kitchener P.S., Dundurn Street. Years parted our paths, but never my fondness for Richard. May his name and memory be a blessing for his family and friends.

We were deeply saddened to learn about Ritchie’s untimely passing. I fondly remember us growing up together and having so much fun doing so. Without question, he will be truly missed by his family, friends and colleagues. May his memory be a fond blessing to all concerned.
Remembering such great memories of growing up in Hamilton.
Ritchie was an amazing dancer.
He would have given John Travolta a run for his money.
Wishing the family long life.
