Dear Henry and Esther,
I have been living in Jerusalem for the last 45 years and haven’t had any contact with my parents’ friends who were a constant while I was growing up, so I only now happened to come upon your father’s obituary.I think that the last time that I saw your father obm was at my Uncle Sol’s (Shloimek’s) funeral in New Jersey. Unless I am mistaken your father was the last of the survivors my parents were friendly with. He always treated me and my brothers as if we were family, so much so that I felt no compunctions about schnorring milkshakes from him when he had the diner on Victoria Avenue and I was waiting for the bus coming home from high school.
He and your mother were truly extraordinary – along with other survivors they managed to establish themselves in a foreign land while raising three generations.
May God spare you further sorrow.

Saddened to read of Mr Braun’s death. He was such a dear man, and I remember our chats at Bentley Place. Neighbour, Wanda
