DOERING, Mark Samuel Age 40, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton. He was born in Burlington April 1, 1978 to loving parents Shelley and Ray Doering. Mark attended Aldershot High School in Burlington where he was a member of the swim team. He graduated with a degree in geography from Carleton University in 2001. Mark rewarded himself with months of backpacking in Europe. Mark’s career developed as a sales executive with Formcor, a print management firm in Mississauga where he spent his entire working life. On October 11, 2008 he married Stacy Pleasance. They had a fabulous addition to their family on September 1, 2011, a son, Elijah. Mark was a devoted husband, loving father who took great pride in his family. He was a dedicated son, brother and friend to many. Mark was a true people person. His special times involved spending time with family and friends while always getting to know new people. He had the ability to make those around him feel special. Through all life challenges, Mark remained strong and positive. He has become an inspiration to many who were fortunate enough to be part of his life. Mark will be remembered for his loving nature, generous spirit and sense of humour. He is survived by his wife Stacy, son Elijah, parents Shelley and Ray, brother Adam (wife Christine) and sister Samantha, along with many extended family members. Mark will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Our entire family extends most heartfelt thanks to the extraordinary group at St. Peter’s Hospital who cared for Mark his last 5 months. His team was a group of angels , selflessly caring, watching and protecting Mark on 3-East. We’re thankful to many of the other staff who befriended our family and made everyone’s difficult time a little better. We will never forget what you did to help us. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to haltonlearningfoundation.ca., a charity helping underserved and at risk school children without proper resources. Within that site is a special tribute area where you can direct your donation to “The Mark Doering Thoughtful Fund”.There will be a Celebration of Life for Mark on Sunday, November 11th at Burlington Golf and Country Club, 422 North Shore Blvd. East in Burlington in the afternoon, from 1-4 p.m.
