JACOBS, Margaret Sylvia It is with sadness that we announce the death of Margaret Sylvia Jacobs, who died peacefully on August 20, 2013 at Shalom Village Nursing Home. She was in her 92nd year. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Joseph Jacobs, and her brothers Victor and Cecil and her sister Gloria. Born in Leeds, England to Harry and Hetty Gavzey, she had a long and distinguished life as an officer in the Royal Air Force in World War II, a prominent elected member of the city Council in Cardiff, Wales, a devoted wife, and loving mother and grandmother. She was a woman of great conviction, independence and achievement and will be missed by her son David, daughter-in-law Bryna, daughter Sara and grandchildren Erin, Alyson, Rhyannon, Sheehan and Sasha, and her sister Doreen. Funeral on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Adas Israel Cemetery on York Road, Hamilton. Shiva at 7:30 p.m., August 22, 2013 at 124 St. Clements Avenue, Toronto.
