The Beth Jacob family mourns the loss of our long time member, Helen Minden z”l, on Friday, December 22, 2023. Helen died peacefully at her home with her family, just as Shabbat was coming in. She was 96, the beloved wife of the late Albert Minden; loving mother and mother-in-law of Jonie and Terrence Reiber and Michael and Sandy Minden; dear sister and sister-in-law of the late Ada and Elmer Farkas, the late Maucey and Max Ritts and the late Michael Minden; devoted grandmother of Jordan and Lauren, Rachael, Talya, Samantha and Martin, and Emma and Zach; beloved great-grandmother of Liora, Avi, Maya, Addy, Cori, Noam and Aiden. She lived for her family, which always came before everything and anything. She was also a woman ahead of her times, a university graduate and a children’s radio broadcaster. Special thanks to Dr. Katja Heineck and caregivers Gilda, Jestine and Celeste.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, December 24, 2023 at 10:00am at Benjamin’s Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Avenue West (three lights west of Dufferin).
Interment will follow the service and will take place at Beth Jacob Cemetery, 1250 Snake Road in Burlington.
Shiva: The family will sit shiva at 160 Elmhurst Avenue, Toronto.
Shiva visit times: Sunday 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Monday to Thursday: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Friday: 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Evening services will be held at 7:00 pm.
Shiva concludes Saturday morning December 30, 2023.
