A graveside service will be held October 6, 2025, 12:00 pm at the Temple Anshe Sholom Cemetery 427 Limeridge Road East, Hamilton. 

It is with sadness that the families of Rosenkrantz, Walsh and Brejak announce the death of the patriarch Joseph David Rosenkrantz, on the 4th of October 2025. In his 100th year Joe was as vibrant and happy as ever. Five years predeceased by Irene, his bride of 67 years, Joe created a beautiful family including five children: Lisa (Michael), David (Pat), Dan (Lyne), Jeannie (Ron) and Susan; 9 grandchildren: Aaron (Jackie), Benjamin (Sarah), Samuel (Natasha), Joshua (Camilla), Leah (Jordan), Nathaniel, Yanic, Maxwell (Kathy), and Sidney (Laura); and five great-grandchildren: Rebecca, John, Isaac, Asher, and Noah. Dearly missing Joe will be his love Erica, his niece Marcy, his nephews Steven (Nancy), Brian (Marie) and Allan (Donna), and his many friends at Amica. Also dearly missing him are his longtime companions and caregivers, Rizza, Karen, Erlinda and Jovy. They cared for and loved him. “Thank you” is not nearly enough. Joe’s pharmacy career took him from Ball’s in downtown Toronto to Plaza Drugs in Hamilton which became one of Canada’s first Shoppers Drug Marts. The Centre Mall was his home away from home for decades until Belleville’s Quinte Mall called.  Joe sat on many charitable and other organizational boards including Temple Anshe Sholom, Rotary and he was a founding member of the Burlington Y Aquatic Club. A funeral will take place at noon on Monday, October 6th at Anshe Sholom Cemetery in Hamilton. May his memory be a blessing. Donations to support prostate cancer will be appreciated through the Canadian Cancer Society or to feed the needy in Canada through Mazon Canada.
