SCHWARZ, Lilly It is with great sadness that the family of Lilly Schwarz announces her passing on December 4, 2019 at the Emmanuel House in Hamilton, Ontario. Lilly was born on April 7, 1923 in Zatec, Czechoslovakia, the only daughter of Alfred and Ludmilla Friedlander. She spent the war years in England, returning to Czechoslovakia in 1945. She immigrated to Canada in 1947. She spent much of her life managing the business of Ella Riva Farms in Lynden, Ontario. She moved to Hamilton in 1974. She is predeceased by her first husband Joseph Gould and her second husband Otto Schwarz. Lilly had two children Ruth Gould (Weaver), Peter Gould and four step-children, Charlie, Alan, Marty and Ronnie Schwarz. She will be fondly remembered by their spouses, 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Lilly lived a full life and saw it through to a natural conclusion. Along the way, she touched many people and was known to be kind, supportive and caring. Donations can be made to the Shalom Village Foundation or the Sickkids Foundation-Carrie Schwarz Memorial Fund. The Funeral Service is at the United Hebrew Memorial Chapel, 28 Ewen Road, Hamilton at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 6, 2019.
