Interment following at the Adas Israel Cemetery, 575 Old York Road, Burlington, ON

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Paul Joel Gaffe ז״ל, surrounded by family at home on January 13, 2022.
Devoted husband of Rosalie Gaffe. Loving father of Ronnie (Lori) and Lorne, and father-in-law of Jill Gaffe. Proud Papa of Jared and Isaac Gaffe. Son of the late Doris and Harry Gaffe and brother and brother-in-law of the late Eudy and Morry Halberstadt.
Shiva visits by appointment only.  Evening shiva services will be held at Beth Jacob Synagogue, 375 Aberdeen Avenue, Hamilton, Saturday to Wednesday at 6:00 pm. Proof of full-vaccination required to attend. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Beth Jacob Synagogue 905-522-1351 or the Canadian Cancer Society 1-800-268-8874.

Full Covid-19 protocols will be in effect as follows: In an effort to avoid the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Chapel will accommodate seating for 80 people, providing safe distancing.  ONLY THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN DOUBLE VACCINATED WILL BE PERMITTED TO ENTER THE CHAPEL. Proof of Ontario certificate and Identification WILL be requested.
At the cemetery, we will be limited to a maximum of 100 persons (including Clergy) for the safety of mourners, funeral home and cemetery staff.
Masks must be worn, covering the nose and mouth, and social distancing 2m (6′) is required unless you are of the same household.  For those that wish to participate in the mitzvah of Kevura, gloves must be worn.  Names and phone numbers will be requested.

    What a legacy! You would be hard pressed to find a nicer gentleman. We will remember Mr. Gaffe as a generous, loving, family man who took great pride (and joy!) in watching Jared and Isaac in their respective hockey careers.

    Our wish is for all of you to find comfort in the amazing memories you will have of your father/grandfather, today and in the future.

    knowing Paul enriched our lives and those of others, and it is with a sad heart that we learned of his passing. He had a charm about him that never allowed him to cease being a gentleman even under the most trying circumstances and civility that never left him.   10. Dear Rosalie, Ronnie, Lorne, Jill, Jared and Yitzy,

    We are so sorry for your loss. We will remember Paul playing football with us, Lorne, Jared and Yitzy in the pool at Hollybrook or moving down from the nosebleed seats at the Panthers games because they were too high for Paul. Mostly we will remember Paul with Mort and the other guys laughing, recalling a golf game and laughing some more. May his memory be for a blessing.

  18. Dearest Rosalie Loren, Jill, andRonny, My best friend of over 66 years has left us. Paul was my best friend and the brother I never had.Through his illness he was the Energizer Bunny who never quit.The consummate gentleman. Paul signed our Katubah 60 years ago and when we renewed our vows this past summer and even with failing health he signed our new Katubah which will always be treasured.   19. Today I lost my brother and best friend of over 65 years.Paul was the consummate gentleman .
    and a gentle man.A true friend.Even when he no longer could go to Hollybrook he always wanted to know all about golf and what was happening
    In all the years we never heard a swear word come out of his mouth.
    Paul signed our Katubah when we were married 60 years ago. It was the ultimate honor to have him sign our Katubah when we renewed our vows this past summer.
    You remain “the Best” in our broken hearts.
