Dr. Joseph (Yossi) Peer

Beloved husband of Monique. Cherished father of Michael ( Karen), Dana (Dominic) and Lee Ron (Paloma). Adored saba of Miah and Avery, Ethan, Lucas and Theo ,and Nicolas and Oliver

Graveside services will be held Friday March 21st at 2:00 pm at the Temple Anshe Sholom cemetery on 427 Limeridge Rd East, Hamilton.  Streaming link:   www.mgxproductions.com/stream/JosephPeer

Shiva will be observed Sunday March 23, 2025 from 1:00pm to 6:00pm at 69 Pimlico Dr. in Dundas 

Donations to the Hamilton Jewish Food Bank (905 627 9922) would be appreciated.

  1. It is with great sadness that I hear of the passing of Dr. Joe Peer. It was an honour to have worked side by side caring for children at St. Joseph’s Hospital with him. He always had time to discuss cases and after a particular difficult case, he found that I was crying. It was a horrible child abuse case. He came right over to me to and gave me comfort through his kind words. He showed to me how compassionate he was and that he was an awesome human being. RIP Dr. Peer!

  2. Dr Peer was a wonderful doctor I worked as a nurse at McMaster in the nursery and he was a great teacher and mentor. He also saw all my children as a doctor. Sending condolences to the family. May he rest in peace

  4. Dr Peer was an amazing dedicated paediatrician who cared for our 2 daughters for many years. I remember him putting their pictures they drew for him in their charts! His patience and kindness to staff he worked with was an example for others! He provided exceptional care to his patients. He will be missed.

    I am so very sorry to hear about Joe’s passing!💙
    There was a time when I was raising my family and your wonderful Joe was on call.
    Not only did he give me peace of mind with his medical expertise and caring words, but he actually came over to my home that evening to check on my child and assure me that there was nothing to be alarmed about!

    I have never forgotten that kindness!!

    So sorry to hear of Joe’s passing.
    Enjoyed spending time and catching up at our RODEO luncheons.It’s been many years since we shared those hectic days at St. Joe’s.

  7. “Dr. Peer” was a wonderful man — kind, sensitive, generous, dedicated to his family, and master of his craft of pediatric medicine. When we moved to Hamilton, we were privileged, and feel blessed, to have had him as pediatrician for our 4 children. May his memory be for a blessing.

  9. To Monique and family, how very sad we were to read of Dr. Peer’s passing. He was a wonderful doctor and we use advisor to my three children as they grew up. He was a friend to my dad. We we cherish memories of visits to his office. He was a thoughtful, caring doctor and a gentleman. He will be missed
